CherYsh Empower
CherYsh Empower offers comprehensive training programs to equip rural women with the skills to become proficient educators and entrepreneurs, preparing them economically.
Several programs are dedicated to recognizing the unique skills and talents of rural women. We provide guidance to help transform these skills into viable home-based businesses, empowering women to become self-employed and financially independent while contributing to the well-being of their families.
Our initiatives create job opportunities and foster economic growth, enabling women to lead more fulfilling lives and strengthen their families’ prosperity. At the same time, these efforts contribute to the growth of the local economy.
Under the Cherysh Empower initiative, we are also working to equip local women with AI and computer skills, preparing them for opportunities in the digital age. In parallel, we identify and train local women to become community learning facilitators who support children after school hours, similar to structured tuition support. Many rural students receive little or no academic help at home, and these facilitators help bridge that gap by guiding them in subjects such as science, mathematics, and English.
Through this rural skilling approach, we mentor and train these women closely so they can build sustainable livelihoods while also passing on their knowledge to the next generation. In this way, skilled women uplift both their families and the children in their communities, creating a lasting cycle of empowerment.
Educator Program
Shiksha Learning Facilitator and Technology Educator (Teacher) Training – A CherYsh Flagship Program
CherYsh’s Shiksha Programs prioritize developing local women as facilitators, anchoring their communities’ educational needs. Facilitators undergo over 50 in-person sessions and supplementary online training focused on pedagogy, technology, and subject coaching. Modules incorporate interactive activities, songs, and play to create an engaging learning experience.
This approach has transformed over 200+ women into confident educators and master trainers with stable incomes, societal dignity contributing to improved learning outcomes for the rural children they teach.
Skilling Program
CherYsh has established a robust grassroots presence across 50+ villages in Haliyal Taluk, launching the Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) to empower rural women entrepreneurs. This initiative offers comprehensive training in business development, financial literacy, project writing, and marketing strategies. Addressing economic challenges caused by COVID-19 and regional floods, the program supports women eager to contribute financially but lacking the resources or guidance to start businesses.
Through partnerships with organizations such as KLE Tech University, Selco and the Deshpande Foundation, CherYsh equips these women to establish sustainable enterprises. Participants receive two years of continuous mentoring and support to ensure success. Additionally, financial literacy training and market linkage support indirectly benefit over 1000+ women, fostering widespread community impact.
Entrepreneurship Program
CherYsh focuses on identifying the skills and potential of rural women, nurturing them for home-based industries and entrepreneurial ventures. By fostering economic empowerment, the program enhances the standard of living for families and contributes to sustaining the children to stay in education.
Program Highlights
CherYsh collaborated with the Center for Entrepreneurship Development of Karnataka (CEDOK) to deliver entrepreneurship training to 100+ women from rural Haliyal. Participants gained skills in business development, project writing, marketing, and financial management, enabling them to start and sustain their enterprises.
The program’s objectives include:
- Fostering economic independence for women.
- Supporting community growth through sustainable businesses.
- Enhancing financial contributions to households.
By empowering women through skilling and entrepreneurship, CherYsh is building resilient rural communities and promoting rural economic transformation.
